Kansas City-born independent hip-hop recording artist John Richey grew up on the outskirts of the Kansas City-metro area exposing him to a wide variety of music, emerging onto the music scene in 2017 with four self-recorded projects. With traditional rock roots that lend a hand to his songwriting style and persona, John's stage experience began by opening for artists such as Aaron Cohen, Skippa da Flippa, Strange Music's JL, Stoner Jordan, Marley Young, Former Los Angeles Laker Kareem Rush and more. With his first major independent release, "What You Like", amassing over 150,000 streams in 2018, John Richey has released various singles throughout 2019 and 2020. With his most recent independent single, "Medics", reaching 10,000+ streams since it's March 20th release date, John keeps the momentum up for the anticipated release of "Homebody (feat. Amira Wang)" on May 23rd.
